Beethoven, Professor Snape, and Our First Vocabulary List


Today we listened to part of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, as an introduction to my tradition of sharing beautiful music on Musical Mondays. The video above shows a different version of the symphony, performed by a flash mob in Germany.

Grace E. made a great observation about the conductor of today's performance: she noticed that he bears a striking resemblance to Severus Snape, from the Harry Potter movies!


Also today we began to learn some of the important vocabulary words related to world religions. One of the first words that we'll focus on is sacred

All religions treat certain objects as sacred, and people have different opinions about how an object becomes sacred. Do you have certain objects in your life that you treat as sacred?
